It has a physical camera shutter, tap-to-snooze, and sunrise alarms. It is not a serious Thread/Zigbee hub, and the screen is too small for recipes — treat it as a second or third device, not your main one.

What about third-party Matter panels?

Wall-mounted Matter controllers from brands like Aqara and SwitchBot have matured, and Home Assistant enthusiasts on Reddit increasingly favour a local-first setup with a cheap tablet dashboard over any voice assistant. These are excellent at one thing — fast, reliable, local control of devices — and poor at everything else: no proper media playback, weaker voice, no video calling.
